Mars, named after the red planet in Earth's solar system, is a small planet that orbits Sol every 124 days. It has no moons, and is the closest planet in the solar system to Sol. Because of its proximity to the yellow dwarf star, the planet's surface is incredibly hot. Mars has no atmosphere and cannot support life.
